"My 8 year old daughter has been with Chords of Joy for 2 years.  I took piano when I was 8 but my daughter has now surpassed my own knowledge of music, piano theory, and ability to sightread.  I was leary of group lessons at first, but it has been a great benefit since the kids can gauge themselves with one another.  Also, the children and parents become good friends.
My 10 year old son is also enrolled.  He started years ago in traditional private lessons which somewhat hindered him.  I wish I had known about Chords of Joy back then so he could have started off on the right foot.
When I spoke to a musician in my neighborhood about how my children are learning solfege, she said 'I wish I had known that before college.  It would've made my music theory courses so much easier.'
